Description:
The principle of an ultrasonic sonicator (homogenizer) is to destroy tissue and cells through cavitation and ultrasonic waves. The sonotrode of the ultrasonic homogenizer vibrates very fast, causing the solution around it to foam and collapse rapidly. This creates shear and shock waves that tear tissue and cells apart. Ultrasonic sonicators are well suited for separating cells and subcellular structures in suspension. Other applications include making emulsions, dispersing nanoparticles, and reducing the size of suspended particles. Additionally, they are used for accelerating chemical reactions and enhancing extraction processes, making them versatile tools in both research and industrial settings.
