Product Description

Description:
Noise-Controlled Ultrasonic Homogenizer for High-Quality Extraction

Ultrasonic extraction is the preferred method for isolating bioactive compounds from botanicals. Sonication ensures complete extraction, leading to superior extract yields in a very short amount of time. Due to its efficiency, ultrasonic extraction is both cost- and time-saving, while producing high-quality extracts used in food, supplements, and pharmaceuticals.
Ultrasonic homogenizers consist of three main components:
Generator: Supplies the energy.
Converter: Transforms electrical energy into mechanical motion.
Horn: When placed in a liquid, it moves rapidly, causing bubbles to form. These bubbles expand and contract, breaking down surrounding particles (a process known as cavitation), and converting the material in the solution from a polymeric molecular cluster structure to a monomeric molecular structure.

Ultrasonic Homogenizer Advantages:

1.Enhanced Extraction Efficiency: Ultrasonic waves create cavitation bubbles within the solvent, which disrupt the cell walls of plant material and enhance the release of bioactive compounds. This results in higher extraction yields compared to traditional methods.

2.Shorter Extraction Time: The mechanical action of ultrasonic waves accelerates the extraction process by facilitating the penetration of solvent into plant tissues. This leads to significantly reduced extraction times, allowing for higher throughput and faster production cycles.

3.Preservation of Phytochemical Integrity: Ultrasonic extraction operates at lower temperatures compared to heat-based extraction methods, minimizing thermal degradation of heat-sensitive phytochemicals such as polyphenols, flavonoids, and enzymes. This helps retain the natural properties and potency of herbal extracts.

4.Selective Extraction: Ultrasonic parameters such as frequency, power, and duration can be adjusted to selectively extract specific compounds from herbs based on their solubility and molecular characteristics. This enables targeted extraction of desired phytochemicals while minimizing the extraction of unwanted components.

5.Eco-Friendly Process: Ultrasonic extraction requires minimal solvent usage due to its efficient mass transfer capabilities, leading to reduced solvent consumption and waste generation. Additionally, the lower energy consumption and shorter processing times contribute to a more environmentally sustainable extraction process.

FAQS:
What is ultrasonic extraction?
Ultrasonic extraction is a process that uses high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to enhance the extraction of compounds from solid or liquid samples. The mechanical waves create cavitation, leading to the release of target compounds from the matrix.

How does ultrasonic extraction work?
Ultrasonic waves generate microscopic bubbles in the extraction solvent. When these bubbles collapse, they produce intense shockwaves and microjets, creating turbulence that enhances mass transfer and facilitates the extraction of compounds from the sample.

What are the advantages of ultrasonic extraction?
Ultrasonic extraction offers several benefits, including increased extraction efficiency, shorter processing times, reduced solvent consumption, and the ability to extract a wide range of compounds. It is also a non-thermal process, preserving heat-sensitive compounds.

What types of samples can be processed with ultrasonic extraction?
Ultrasonic extraction is versatile and can be applied to various samples, including plant materials, food products, pharmaceuticals, and environmental samples. It is suitable for extracting bioactive compounds, flavors, fragrances, and other target substances.

Is ultrasonic extraction suitable for large-scale production?
Yes, ultrasonic extraction can be scaled up for industrial applications. There are ultrasonic processors designed for both laboratory and industrial use, allowing for efficient and consistent extraction on a larger scale.

Are there any limitations to ultrasonic extraction?
While ultrasonic extraction is highly effective, its efficiency may vary depending on factors such as sample characteristics, ultrasonic frequency, and power. Additionally, some compounds may be sensitive to the mechanical forces generated during the process.

Can ultrasonic extraction replace traditional extraction methods?
Ultrasonic extraction is often used as a complementary or alternative method to traditional extraction techniques. Its efficiency, speed, and ability to work at lower temperatures make it a valuable tool, but the choice between methods depends on the specific requirements of the extraction process.

What parameters should be considered for optimizing ultrasonic extraction?
Optimization involves adjusting parameters such as ultrasonic frequency, power, extraction time, and solvent choice. These factors should be tailored to the specific characteristics of the sample and the desired compounds to achieve the best results.
